Silent Hill f: How to Get the Sacred Sword (All Jizo Statue Locations)
Silent Hill f would have been incomplete without the devs adding a katana as a weapon for Hinako to use. Players can wield a powerful katana called the Sacred Sword in the game, which can slice and dice through enemies like butter. However, the katana can be a little tricky to get, as you’ll need to locate all the Jizo statues in Silent Hill f, and find offerings for them, but only in New Game+. So, this guide will walk you through the whole process of locating all the Jizo statues, their offerings, and how to get the Sacred Sword.
How to Start the Sacred Sword Puzzle in Silent Hill f
To get the special weapon Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f, players will need to complete their first playthrough and start a New Game+ playthrough. New Game+ will allow you to access previously inaccessible areas and new puzzles to complete, the Sacred Sword being one of them.
Once you exit Hinako’s house at the beginning of the game, keep following the path until you come across the first Hokora Shrine. Head left from the shrine and head down the path till you spot a house with an open door. You’ll also hear sinister muffled laughter when you move close to the house (yes, you’re not the only one who heard that).
After entering through the doorway, you’ll find a note sitting on the living room table that you can pick up to start the Sacred Sword puzzle in Silent Hill f. Getting the sword will require players to find all five Jizo statues that are scattered across Ebisugaoka and place offerings on each of them.
The first Jizo statue’s offering can be found within this house as well. Simply head upstairs and go inside the room to get the Balcony Key sitting inside a box on the ground, next to the display cabinet.
Once you grab the key, open the door to the balcony and enter the adjacent room to the right. It will be unlocked using the Balcony Key, so simply head inside. Go inside the room and look to the right to find the Treasure Hunting Game Key sitting on top of a drawer, with a note to find the hidden treasure in locked chests.
There are several miniature treasure chests scattered around the house. Some contain notes that you can collect, but the one you need to open is located downstairs in the kitchen. Open the hidden chest behind the kitchen cabinet to get the Faded Bride Doll. This is an offering for the first Jizo statue located nearby.
Your progress of Jizo statues will carry over to other playthroughs of Silent Hill f, even if you visit (& offer items to) only some of them.
All Jizo Statue & Offering Locations in Silent Hill f
First Jizo Statue Location
After you’ve picked up the Faded Bride Doll, head to the location marked on the map above to locate the first Jizo statue in Silent Hill f. Simply exit the house and head further down the path till you spot a red postbox.
Head left from the postbox to find the first Jizo statue sitting between a wooden fence and a boulder. Interact with the Jizo statue to place the Faded Bride Doll on it. That’s one Jizo statue in Silent Hill f down and four more to locate and place offerings on.
Second Jizo Statue Location
Players will come across the second Jizo statue after completing the Shrine Path area and returning to Ebisugaoka (Second Visit) in Silent Hill f. Hinako and Shu will reunite and will need to look for Rinko at her house.
Once you reach the Ebisugaoka rice fields, keep following the path heading north until you start going uphill and arrive at the Sakuko family’s Sennensugi Shrine. Make sure to head close to the rope and watch the shrine doors for a special scene that isn’t present in your first playthrough. After you’re done, pick up the Rusted Flask offering sitting in the middle of miniature Inari-sama (fox) statues on the ground.
To find the second Jizo statue, head back down from Sakuko’s shrine, and a cutscene will Shu will play. After that, as soon as you descend, immediately turn left, and you’ll come across a small area with wooden planks. Pass through here to find the Jizo statue in a small clearing behind the area. Interact with it to place the Rusted Flask on the statue.
Third Jizo Statue Location
Players will next encounter the third Jizo statue in Silent Hill f, while heading to the Middle School during Chapter 5: Ebisugaoka (Third Visit). As you exit through the canal area of the town and enter the mountainside outskirts of the school, you’ll see a cutscene with Shu and Rinko.
After the cutscene, continue uphill until you arrive at the gates of Ebisugaoka Middle School. You mustn’t enter the school, as it’ll lock you out of completing the third Jizo statue’s quest. Instead, turn left from the school gates and head down the path till you arrive at the broken bridge.
You’ll find the Broken Japanese Geta Sandal here, right next to some pallets and sacks.
Once you grab the Geta Sandal, head back to the main area with the shrine. Go up the stairs north of the shrine and turn left as soon as you arrive at the top. You’ll find the third Jizo statue at the side of the house. Interact with it to place the Broken Japanese Geta Sandal offering on it.
Fourth Jizo Statue Location
You’ll encounter the fourth Jizo statue in Silent Hill f towards the end of Chapter 8: Ebisugaoka (Fourth Visit). This occurs right after Hinako’s escapes the Fog Monster and passes the Divine Tree to reach Shu’s house.
After reaching Shu’s house, the front door will be locked, and you’ll need to fetch the key from a shed in the backyard. That’s convenient, as the offering for the fourth Jizo statue is also located by the shed.
Before heading into the shed to get the front door key to Shu’s house, look to its right side to get the Cracked Hibachi Brazier item. This is the offering that you’ll need to place on the fourth Jizo statue.
Now, head back to the path you came from that leads towards the Hokora Shrine before Shu’s home, and you’ll spot the fourth Jizo Statue right before a Tori Gate to the left. Simply interact with it to place the Hibachi Cracked Brazier next to it.
Fifth Jizo Statue Location
The fifth and last Jizo statue in Silent Hill f can be found in Chapter 10: Ebisugaoka (Fifth Visit) while Hinako is returning to her home, Shimizu Residence. As you head down the pathway infected with the Spider Lilies, you’ll encounter several enemies along the way. So make sure to traverse ahead prepared.
As you move down the row of houses, you’ll enter a courtyard of a home with a knife sticking out of a tree. This is how you’ll get the Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife offering for the fifth Jizo Statue.
Now, simply exit the courtyard and head back up a bit to find the fifth Jizo statue to the left of the house, right up a small set of stairs. Place the Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife on the statue. Once you’ve offered the final item to the Jizo statue, Hinako will become entranced and tell players to head to the Divine Tree. That’s where they’ll get the Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f.
How to Get the Sacred Sword (Katana) in Silent Hill f
Once you’ve finished offering items to all five Jizo statues, make your way to the Divine Tree to get the Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f. The tree is located on the path Hinako took to reach Shu’s house, so you’ll need to backtrack a bit to get there. Use the map location above to get your bearings and make your journey.
It’s also important to retrieve the Sacred Sword before heading to Shimizu Residence; otherwise, you’ll miss it.
Once you backtrack your way back to Shu’s house, and further head back to the path up to the Divine Tree (shrine), a cutscene will play as Hinako will pick up the Sacred Sword.
Once you get the Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f, “The Malevolent Blade Never Rusts” trophy will be unlocked. It’s not only a special weapon, but will also has a major impact on which ending you’ll get in the game. Now you can use the Sacred Sword to slice through enemies and take advantage of its special abilities.
- Durability Regeneration: When Sheathed, the Sacred Sword will regenerate its durability. Players will still be able to use toolkits to quicken the process.
- Auto-Deflect: The Sacred Sword does not have a focus attack. However, when players go into Focus mode while the blade is equipped, Hinako will auto-deflect any attack the enemies throw at her.
- High Damage: The Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f has a unique slicing combo that also happens to deal significantly high damage compared to other weapons in the game.
If players choose to purify the Sacred Sword, it’ll lose most of its abilities, rendering it a normal weapon with a pretty simple moveset in line with others.
For subsequent playthroughs, after completing all the Jizo statues, players can directly get the Sacred Sword from the second Jizo statue. That’s the one they can get while going to Rinko’s house with Shu.
