Danish forward injured against ArsenalNow nursing a hamstring complaintDoing everything to recover full fitnessGettyWHAT HAPPENED?
Denmark international Hojlund has picked up a hamstring problem during the Red Devils’ pre-season tour of the United States. He was among the goals in a defeat to Arsenal in Los Angeles, but ended up limping out of that contest.

Hojlund has been joined on the sidelines by big-money summer signing Leny Yoro, with a broken metatarsal in his left foot set to keep the teenage defender out of action for around three months. With Erik ten Hag seeing his options depleted, efforts are being made to dip back into the transfer market.
WHAT HOJLUND SAID
Hojlund is hoping that he will not be out for long, with every effort being made to recover full fitness as quickly as possible. That programme includes subjecting his body to extreme cold in a cryotherapy pod, but the 21-year-old has shrugged off that physical test by saying on social media: “Don’t worry. In Scandinavia we call this summer.”
WHAT NEXT?
United splashed out £72 million ($92m) on Hojlund in the summer of 2023. He registered 16 goals during his debut campaign at Old Trafford – a personal best return – and will be eager to push towards and above 20 if he can steer clear of more fitness setbacks in the 2024-25 season.
