Felix is enduring another tough campaign after moving from Chelsea to Milan on loan at the end of the winter transfer window. The Portugal international has only managed one goal for the Rossoneri in 13 appearances in all competitions. According to , Benfica are eager to bring Felix back to the club on loan and hope he can feature in the Club World Cup in June after having failed to re-sign the forward in the last two summers.

Felix left Benfica in 2019 for a record-breaking move to Atletico Madrid but has never managed to consistently show the kind of form that made him such a hot prospect. The 25-year-old has gone on to play for Barcelona, Chelsea and AC Milan since but has failed to nail down a regular place in the starting XI at all three clubs. Felix signed for Chelsea permanently last summer on a six-year contract but moved on loan less than six months later to Milan and could be in line for yet another transfer at the end of the season.

Benfica head coach Bruno Lage is said to be playing a key role in trying to bring Felix back to the club. The Portuguese side are due to kick off their Club World Cup campaign on June 16 against Boca Juniors. Benfica then go on to play Auckland City and Bayern Munich.

Felix will continue with Milan until the end of the season and is then due to return to Chelsea. However, it would be no surprise to see him move on again and a return to Benfica may be a tempting proposition for the Portugal star.
