How to Beat the Battle Wagon in Borderlands 4 & Legendary Drops
Optional bosses can be found all over Kairos in Borderlands 4, and the Battle Wagon is one of the most unique optional bosses you can find. This giant elephant carries an RV full of Rippers on its back, and you can get a ton of loot by farming the Battle Wagon in Borderlands 4.
The Battle Wagon has multiple destructible parts and bandits to kill, and each of these can drop their own loot alongside the boss itself. This makes the Battle Wagon encounter one of the most optimal farming spots in all of Borderlands 4, and you can get some truly unique legendaries if you’re lucky enough. Here’s how to farm the Battle Wagon in Borderlands 4.
How to Beat the Battle Wagon in Borderlands 4
The Battle Wagon is located at The Lowering March Ripper Drill Site in Stoneblood Forest in the northwestern part of Terminus Range. There are no story requirements to access this Ripper Drill Site, so you can head up there as soon as you’re ready. The closest fast travel point is the Snowy Wells Safehouse, just a short distance to the south.
The Battle Wagon will only appear after you’ve cleared the first few waves of Rippers. After thinning the horde, the beast will emerge from a cave in the back of the arena. It carries Rippers on its back, and more bandits will burrow out of the ground with their drills during the encounter as well. Save those extra enemies to revive yourself in case you go down.
To get through this encounter, use a long-range weapon to snipe the bandits off the Battle Wagon’s back. Then, use a Corrosive gun to melt the launchers on each side of the elephant. Finally, use Fire damage to finish off the Battle Wagon. Watch out for its AOE stomp attack and homing missiles in addition to other Rippers sneaking up on you.
Battle Wagon Legendary Drops
The Battle Wagon has three dedicated legendary drops in its loot pool.
|
Legendary |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Finnity XXX-L Sniper Rifle |
Pipin’ Hot Barrels: Does not consume Ammo while Overheating. |
|
Compleation Shield |
Sisyphusian: When Armor Shield is full, it instantly loses an Armor Segment. |
|
Bugbear Assault Rifle |
Rotary Gun: Scales up to +100% Damage and +200% Damage Radius based on the emptiness of the Magazine. |
Each of these three legendaries is incredibly helpful for specific builds. The Compleation shield, in particular, is insanely strong for any builds that get buffs when armor breaks or gets restored, since it’ll never stay full.
Finnity XXX-L is a charging weapon with a Children of the Vault licensed magazine, but it’s still strong despite its unpopular firing style. It’s not really a sniper at all despite its in-game classification, and it functions more like a minigun. It’s great for repeated critical hits or Fire damage builds.
Finally, there’s the Bugbear assault rifle. This is a rapid-fire Torgue weapon that deals more damage and causes bigger explosions as you run out of ammo. It also comes equipped with an alt-fire mode that calls in an airstrike for massive damage. If you’re using a splash damage build or have an Enhancement that buffs Torgue weapons, this is the legendary assault rifle for you in Borderlands 4.
