According to Chelsea are open to selling Nkunku during the current transfer window but have set a steep asking price of approximately £65 million. The Blues, who signed the Frenchman from RB Leipzig in 2023 for a fee exceeding €60 million (£50 million), are adamant about securing a substantial return on their investment.

Nkunku’s dissatisfaction with his role at Stamford Bridge has become apparent this season. The versatile forward has started only three Premier League matches under manager Enzo Maresca and is reportedly unhappy with his lack of regular opportunities. Despite his limited league appearances, Nkunku has still made his mark, becoming Chelsea’s joint-top scorer alongside Cole Palmer with 13 goals in all competitions. However, 11 of those goals have come in cup competitions, including the UEFA Conference League, Carabao Cup, and FA Cup.

WHAT EBERL SAID

While addressing the speculation, Eberl downplayed the likelihood of a deal for the French international.

“We have a squad that is sufficiently equipped in terms of quantity and quality. We have no interest in doing anything in January," he told

Reports suggest Chelsea and Bayern have entered discussions regarding separate deals for Nkunku and Bayern’s 19-year-old forward, Mathys Tel. However, Bayern remain unwilling to part ways with the promising talent.

“Mathys Tel? We're extremely happy with our squad”, Eberl added.

As transfer rumours swirl, Chelsea will be looking to refocus on their Premier League campaign. The team, currently grappling with inconsistent form, will aim to bounce back when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday. However, Nkunku will likely have to remain content with another bench role.
