The favourite holiday destinations of top footballers have been revealed in a new study, with Dubai leading the way.

A study from the Boat Charter has revealed the destinations favoured by the world's top players. They have analysed destinations previously visited by footballers and ranked yacht hire availability, sea temperature, average temperature and number of tourist attractions to determine players' ideal getaway. Coming out on top was Dubai, which has been frequented by England and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, as well as former Manchester City ace Riyad Mahrez.

Also on the list is Lionel Messi's favoured destination of Ibiza, which has also hosted the likes of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham, as is Marbella, which has been graced by Al-Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Dubai has a staggering 2,335 5* resorts, and beats out second-placed Barcelona in the ranking; the Spanish city has recently been visited by Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. Mykonos rounds out the top three and has seen the likes of Mo Salah, Wayne Rooney and Dele Alli head to the Greek island.
